Astro turf pricing — FAQs
What is the 15mm astro turf price per sq.ft in India?
At YPL Safety Nets, 15mm astro turf costs ₹45.80–₹111.25 per sq.ft for material depending on grade (practice, academy, professional). Fully installed rates — including base preparation, adhesives, joint sealing and line markings — run ₹53–₹130 per sq.ft. GST extra as applicable.
Why is there a price difference between material and installed cost?
Material cost covers the turf roll only. Installed cost adds ground levelling, compaction, adhesives, seam sealing, line markings and skilled labour. A flat, well-compacted base is what gives a cricket pitch consistent bounce, so we recommend the installed option for any serious playing surface.
What size is a standard astro turf cricket pitch and what would it cost?
A standard cricket pitch is 22 yards (66 ft) long and about 10 ft wide — roughly 660 sq.ft. At installed rates of ₹53–₹130 per sq.ft, a single match wicket works out to roughly ₹35,000–₹86,000 depending on grade and base condition. Practice strips and multi-lane academy setups are quoted on measured area.
Is 15mm the right thickness for a cricket pitch?
Yes — for cricket, 10mm to 15mm pile height is the commonly recommended range, and 15mm gives the best balance of bounce, cushioning and durability for practice and match play. Thinner turf feels harder underfoot; thicker lawn grasses (30mm–50mm) are meant for landscaping, not wickets.
Do prices change between cities like Chennai, Coimbatore or Tirupati?
Material rates are the same across Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Installed cost varies slightly with transport distance, total area and base condition. We confirm the exact per sq.ft rate in writing after a free site measurement — the price we quote is the price you pay.

Local site conditions we plan for in Chennai
Every fixing uses stainless steel hardware and UV-stabilised netting so the installation survives sun, rain and coastal wind. That decision is made on site, not in the office, because the frame material and working height change the hardware more than the netting itself.

How a astro turf supply and installation job runs in Chennai
1. Free measurement and written quote
A technician measures every opening in feet, checks the frame, and gives you a per-sq.ft rate in writing before any drilling starts.
2. Fabrication and fixing
Netting is cut and rope-bordered to your exact size, anchors go in at 12–15 inch intervals, and stainless steel wire rope is tensioned across the opening before the net is laced on.
Materials used on Chennai sites
UV-stabilised HDPE and braided nylon netting, SS 304/316 hooks and eye bolts, 2.5–3mm stainless wire rope, turnbuckles for re-tensioning, and UV-resistant lacing thread.
