Ceiling Mounted Cloth Dryer in Chennai
A ceiling mounted cloth dryer is the neatest answer to balcony laundry in an apartment. Stainless steel rods hang from a pulley and rope system fixed to the ceiling slab: lower the rods, load the washing, and raise them back up so clothes dry overhead in the breeze while the floor stays free. We supply and install 4-rod, 6-rod and 8-rod systems across Chennai, sized to your balcony width.
What you get with our ceiling mounted cloth dryer
Build & specification
- SS 202 / SS 304 stainless steel rods in 4, 6 and 8 rod configurations
- Smooth pulley and braided rope system — one person raises a full load
- Individual rod lifting, so you load and raise one rod at a time
- Ceiling anchors drilled into the slab, rated far above a full wet load
- Rod lengths from 4 ft to 8 ft, cut to your balcony width on site
Who this dryer suits
- Apartment balconies where floor space is needed every day
- Families drying a full machine load in one go
- Homes that want laundry out of sight, up near the ceiling
- Utility areas and covered terraces with a solid slab above
Using & looking after it
- Spread wet clothes evenly along the rod instead of bunching at one end
- Raise rods fully after loading so air circulates around the garments
- Wipe rods with a dry cloth after salty coastal rain
- Check the rope once a year; we replace worn rope on a service visit

Common questions
What is the price of a ceiling cloth dryer in Chennai?
Available lengths are 4 ft, 5 ft, 6 ft, 7 ft and 8 ft. Material-only prices range from ₹1,250 to ₹1,900, while supply with installation ranges from ₹3,800 to ₹5,500. The exact rate depends on rod count, length, steel grade and site conditions.
Is a ceiling cloth dryer better than a floor stand?
For daily family laundry, yes. A ceiling system dries clothes overhead in the breeze and leaves the whole balcony floor free. A foldable floor stand suits tenants who cannot drill, or as a second rack for overflow days. Many homes keep both.
Will a ceiling dryer fit my small balcony?
Almost certainly. We install systems on balconies from about 2.5 feet wide, with rods cut to size on site. Send us a photo and the rough width on WhatsApp and we will confirm the layout before you pay anything.
Does the stainless steel dryer rust near the sea?
No. We fit SS 304 marine-grade rods for coastal homes, which do not rust in salt air. For covered utility areas away from direct sea breeze, SS 202 is a good lower-cost option and we will tell you honestly which your balcony needs.
Ceiling Mounted Cloth Dryer installation in Chennai — what we install, how we price it and when we can come
Dedicated installation teams across Chennai localities and every major city in Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh. In Chennai we work mainly on apartments, independent houses, schools and commercial buildings. The job we are called for most here is balcony safety nets, pigeon nets and bird-proofing. Every quote follows a free site measurement — nothing is estimated over the phone.
Local site conditions we plan for in Chennai
Every fixing uses stainless steel hardware and UV-stabilised netting so the installation survives sun, rain and coastal wind. That decision is made on site, not in the office, because the frame material and working height change the hardware more than the netting itself.
Buildings and openings we cover
- Balconies, windows, French windows and grill-front openings
- Duct shafts, light wells, stilt parking and lift-lobby gaps
- Terraces, parapets, staircase voids and open atriums
- Schools, hostels, factories, warehouses and sports grounds

How a ceiling Mounted Cloth Dryer installation job runs in Chennai
1. Free measurement and written quote
A technician measures every opening in feet, checks the frame, and gives you a per-sq.ft rate in writing before any drilling starts.
2. Fabrication and fixing
Netting is cut and rope-bordered to your exact size, anchors go in at 12–15 inch intervals, and stainless steel wire rope is tensioned across the opening before the net is laced on.
Materials used on Chennai sites
UV-stabilised HDPE and braided nylon netting, SS 304/316 hooks and eye bolts, 2.5–3mm stainless wire rope, turnbuckles for re-tensioning, and UV-resistant lacing thread.
Warranty and after-service
Every installation carries a written warranty on netting and hardware, with on-call re-tightening and repair visits in Chennai.
