Why Kodambakkam homes choose invisible grills
Most enquiries we get from Kodambakkam come from two situations: a toddler who has started climbing, or a cat that keeps testing the balcony edge. Families here also do not want to lose the open feel of their balcony to a heavy MS grill. An invisible grill answers both — 2.5 mm stainless steel cables at 3 inch spacing, tensioned floor to ceiling, with no horizontal bar to climb and nothing thick enough to block the view.

Invisible Grill – modern safety for homes and buildings
Invisible grills are a practical safety solution for balconies, windows, terraces and high-rise apartments. Designed with strong stainless-steel wires, invisible grills provide an added layer of protection while maintaining an open and unobstructed view. Their slim appearance makes them a popular alternative to traditional metal grills.
Strong and reliable invisible grill
A quality invisible grill system uses durable stainless-steel wires that are securely fixed to a suitable frame or support structure. The installation is designed to provide safety without making the balcony or window look enclosed. This makes invisible grills suitable for modern apartments, villas, offices and commercial buildings.
Invisible grill for balcony
Balconies require proper safety, especially in apartments and high-rise buildings. Invisible balcony grills help create a safer space while preserving natural light and outside views. They can be customized according to the balcony size and layout, making them suitable for different types of residential properties.
Invisible grill for windows
Windows can also benefit from invisible grill installation. The thin wires provide a safety barrier while keeping the window area visually open. Invisible window grills are useful for homes, apartments, offices and buildings where ventilation and visibility are important.
Why choose invisible grills?
- Minimal and modern appearance that suits apartments, villas and offices
- Strong stainless-steel wire construction with tensioned aluminium tracks
- Helps improve balcony and window safety for children, elders and pets
- Maintains outside visibility — no bars blocking your city or sea view
- Allows natural light and airflow through the full opening
- Suitable for residential and commercial properties alike
- Customized installation for balconies, windows, staircases and sit-outs
- Easy to maintain compared with bulky traditional MS grills
Professional invisible grill installation
Proper installation is important for the performance and appearance of an invisible grill system. Professional installers can inspect the location, take accurate measurements, recommend the appropriate configuration and complete the installation with suitable fittings and supports.

Invisible grill FAQs — Kodambakkam
What is the invisible grill price in Kodambakkam?
In Kodambakkam, invisible grills work out to ₹120 – ₹350 per sq.ft installed: roughly ₹120–₹180 per sq.ft in SS 304, ₹180–₹260 per sq.ft in marine-grade SS 316 and ₹260–₹350 per sq.ft for premium 3 mm cable. The final rate depends on the opening size, cable spacing, track colour and floor height, so we confirm it in writing after a free site measurement — no advance, no hidden labour charge.
Is an invisible grill safe for children and pets?
Yes. We fix 2.5 mm stainless steel cable at 3 inch spacing between a top and bottom aluminium track, tensioned floor to ceiling. A child cannot squeeze through or climb it, and a cat or dog cannot push it out. Each cable is rated for far more load than a child leaning on it, and there are no horizontal footholds, unlike a conventional MS grill.
Will an invisible grill rust in Kodambakkam's weather?
SS 316 is marine-grade stainless steel with added molybdenum, which is exactly why we recommend it for coastal Chennai, ECR, OMR and sea-facing high-rises. The cable is also nylon coated, so salt-laden air and monsoon rain do not reach the steel. SS 304 is fine for inland openings. Both come with a written warranty — 5 years on SS 304, 10 years on SS 316.
How long does invisible grill installation take?
A standard balcony in Kodambakkam is measured on day one and fitted in 3–5 hours once the material is ready — usually within 3–5 working days of confirming the quote. Windows take about an hour each. There is no welding, no wall breaking and very little dust; we drill only the track fixing points and clean up before leaving.
Do you also do invisible grill for windows, not just balconies?
Yes — bedroom windows, kitchen windows, staircase openings, sit-outs, French windows and full-height glass openings. Window invisible grills use the same SS 316 cable and aluminium track in a smaller frame, so they stay nearly invisible from inside and keep your ventilation and view. Many Kodambakkam customers do balcony and all windows together, which reduces the per sq.ft rate.
Do you repair or replace an existing invisible grill?
We do. Our team re-tensions loose cables, replaces damaged cable runs, changes worn tracks and services grills installed by other vendors in Kodambakkam. If the existing track is sound we reuse it and only replace the cable, which keeps the cost far below a fresh installation.
