Customers usually ask for a price per square foot, but Tufropes netting is sold by weight — ₹420 to ₹470 per kg for the grades we stock. Weight is a direct function of mesh size and twine thickness, so specifying correctly is the difference between a net that lasts eight years and one that is replaced in two.
Mesh size: what you are keeping out or in
Mesh is the clear opening between knots. Choose it from the target, never from price.
- 25mm — sparrows, small birds, plumbing and electrical ducts
- 50mm — pigeons on balconies, terraces, shafts and industrial sheds
- 40–50mm — cricket practice nets and multi-sport barrier nets
- 75–100mm — golf, football and perimeter ball-stop nets
- 100mm knotless with 1.5m fall — construction safety (personnel) nets
Twine thickness and denier
Twine is quoted in mm or as denier/ply. For bird nets, 1.4–1.8mm HDPE twine is right for residential balconies; 2.0–2.5mm belongs on industrial sheds and coastal faces where wind loading is constant.
Sports nets need impact resistance rather than fineness: 2.0–3.0mm twine for cricket practice nets, 3.0mm and above for perimeter ball-stop nets that take repeated full-power strikes.
Construction safety nets are specified by energy absorption, not appearance — knotless polypropylene or nylon with a tested drop rating, plus a UV masterbatch, is the only acceptable spec for personnel protection.
How the spec moves the price
Doubling twine thickness roughly doubles the weight of the same net area, so the same balcony can be quoted at very different amounts depending on grade. UV stabilisation and colour
